Tracking and Traps

Over the last few weeks we have been learning about New Zealand native birds and animals. We have been learning about how to track predators. We did this by using tracking tunnels. Tracking tunnels are used to see what animals are around our neighbourhood. You use an ink pad and some peanut butter to lure them in. We left them out overnight.   In the morning we found a footprint . In one of them there was a hair and in one of them there was mice and rat footprints. Kauri brought a dead stoat to show us. She told us to keep our hands away from the trap. It was scary.
